Cashier

Use Cashier to run service in a restaurant outlet. Open it from the outlet's name in the Outlets group of the sidebar. It opens on the outlet's floor plan, and the order pad appears as soon as you select a table.

For restaurant outlets

The floor plan, tables, and kitchen firing on this page belong to restaurant outlets. A guest shop sells from its Sale screen instead, with no tables or kitchen. See Outlets overview.

The floor plan

Tables sit on a canvas. Use the controls on the canvas to zoom, Fit to view, and enter or exit fullscreen. Select a table to open its menu, then select Start order for a free table or Resume order for a table that already has a bill running.

To match the floor plan to your real room, select Arrange and drag the tables into place. Add table creates a table with a Label, a Shape (Round, Square, or Rectangle), and a number of Seats. Select Done arranging when the layout is right. Arranging needs the Manage Outlet Settings permission.

Building the order

With an order open, the menu fills the card, grouped by category. The order panel on the right shows the order number, its status, and the guest count.

Select an item to add it. If the item has modifier groups, a dialog opens first so you can make the required choices, set the quantity, and add a note for the kitchen.

Each line in the order shows its quantity, name, and line total:

  • Unfired lines have plus and minus steppers and a remove button. They have not reached the kitchen, so you can change or remove one without approval.
  • Fired lines show a flame and a fixed quantity. You cannot edit them. Voiding one needs the Void Items permission and a confirmation, because the kitchen has already started cooking.

Modifiers and notes appear indented under their line, so whoever reads the bill sees exactly what the kitchen was told.

Sending to the kitchen

Select Send to kitchen. The button counts the lines waiting to be fired, so it reads Send to kitchen (3) when three lines are new. It is disabled when everything has already gone.

Fired lines go straight to Cooking on the kitchen display, with no queue for someone to accept. See Kitchen Display.

You can keep adding to a table after firing. Each new round fires on its own, and the order stays open.

Bill out and settle

When the guest asks for the bill, select Bill out. The order moves to bill-out, prices are locked, and the panel shows the totals with the outlet's charges applied. From here, select Reopen to add more, or Tender to take payment.

The tender dialog takes one or more payments. Select Split payment to add another one, which is how a split bill works. Each payment has:

  • Method: one of the outlet's payment methods, or Room charge.
  • Currency: the payment's currency, so a guest can pay part in the outlet's currency and part in another accepted one.
  • Amount, and for cash a Tendered figure, so the change due is calculated.
  • Room: for a room charge, the checked-in room to bill. The list shows the room number with the guest's name.

Settle payment stays disabled until the payments cover the total. A room charge posts to that stay's folio, so the guest pays it at check-out with everything else.

Room charge needs a checked-in guest

The room list only contains rooms with a guest in them. If nobody is checked in, a room charge cannot complete. If the outlet has no payment methods, the dialog says that only room charge is available. Add payment methods in the outlet's Settings.

Voiding

Void order voids every line and frees the table. It needs the Void Items permission, asks for confirmation, and cannot be undone. Use it for an order opened on the wrong table or abandoned before service. For a single mistake, void the line instead.

Voids are recorded and reported. See the Voided Items report in Reports.

Order numbers, receipts, and attribution

Every order is numbered by date and sequence, for example 20260726-014 for the property's fourteenth outlet order of that day. The same number appears on the kitchen ticket, the bill, the receipt, and the folio line.

The print dock in the right-hand column shows the outlet's print queue. Next to it, Cashier shows the signed-in user, so every action is attributed to that person's session.

Table orders

Guests can order from the QR code on their table. A new table order appears in the Table orders panel in the same column, headed by its table. Select Accept table order to send it to the kitchen and mark the table occupied, or Reject table order to void the guest's lines and free the table. Until you choose, you cannot add to the order, send it to the kitchen, or bill it out. To skip this step, turn on Auto-accept table orders in Settings.
