First Login

This page shows you how to sign in, how to join your team or set up a new property, and how the screen is laid out so you can find things quickly during a busy shift.

Veridien is a web application, so there is nothing to install. You work in a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge), or in the Veridien desktop app if your property already has it installed. The native apps are not available for public download yet; see the Apps page.

Signing in

  1. Open your property's Veridien address.
  2. On the Welcome to Veridien screen, select Sign in with email.
  3. Enter your Email and Password. Select Show password if you want to check what you typed.
  4. Select Sign in.

You can also sign in without a password: select Sign in with a passkey on the welcome screen, or Sign in with a passkey instead below the email form. If your account has two-factor authentication turned on, Veridien asks for a 6-digit code after your password.

If you forget your password, select Forgot password? below the password field to receive a reset link.

In the desktop app, select Get started. Sign-in finishes in your browser, where your saved passwords and passkeys work, and the app then opens signed in.

Email verification

If Veridien says your email is not verified when you sign in, select Resend verification code and enter the 6-digit code sent to your email. You must verify your account before you can sign in.

First-time account setup

How you start depends on whether you are joining a property that already exists or setting up a new one.

New staff joining an existing property

When an owner or administrator invites you, you receive an invitation email with a link.

  1. Open the link from the email. The page reads You're invited.
  2. Select Sign in to accept if you already have a Veridien account. If you do not, select Create one and sign up with the email address the invitation was sent to: enter your First name, Last name, Work email, and a Password of at least 10 characters with a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, and a number. Then enter the 6-digit code Veridien emails you.
  3. On the Property invitation page, check the address under Signed in as, then select Accept invitation. Select Decline if the invitation was not meant for you.

Once you accept, Veridien opens the property's dashboard.

Setting up a brand-new property

If you are the owner creating a property, a setup wizard collects what Veridien needs before your property exists. You move through the steps with Next and Back:

  1. Welcome: create the password you will use to sign back in. A checklist confirms the password has At least 8 characters, Contains a letter, and Contains a number, and that the two entries match.
  2. About: choose what kind of property it is, such as Hotel, Resort, Villa, Guesthouse, Hostel, or Bed & breakfast.
  3. Property: enter the Property name, pick its URL slug (the web address guests see in reservation links), and choose which day your week starts on.
  4. Location: drag the pin to your exact location. Veridien fills in the Address and Timezone from it, and you can correct either one.
  5. Currency: choose your base currency and tick I understand this can't be changed later.
  6. Logo: optionally upload a logo (PNG, JPG, or WebP up to 2MB) for invoices, confirmations, and guest emails.
  7. Contact: enter the phone number and email Veridien can use to verify your property, confirm the details are accurate, and select Create property.

Veridien then creates the property and opens its Dashboard. You add rooms, room types, and rates afterwards.

Currency and time zone are foundational

Your base currency is set once and used everywhere money is recorded. The time zone decides which local day a reservation's arrival and departure fall on, and which day scheduled jobs and reports treat as today. Check both carefully during setup.

Finding your way around

Once you are inside a property, the screen has three main areas.

The sidebar

The sidebar on the left is your main navigation. At the top is Search, and below it the property switcher, which shows the active property's name and slug. Below the switcher, pages are grouped into sections:

  • Dashboard: today's snapshot for the property.
  • Stay: Reservations, Rooms, Housekeeping.
  • Guests: Guests, Inbox, Reviews, Loyalty.
  • Sell: Rate Plans, Promotions, Services, Channels.
  • Money: Folios, Expenses, Invoices, Accounts, Reports.
  • Outlets: each outlet by name, such as a restaurant or a guest shop, with its screens under it (a restaurant has Cashier, KDS, Menu, Inventory, Reports, Reconciliation, and Settings). Shown only when your property has Outlets.
  • Insights: Activity Log, Vesper, Chat History, Usage.
  • Settings: Property Settings.

The current page is highlighted so you always know where you are. Some pages, such as Housekeeping, Inbox, or Expenses, appear only when your property's plan includes them.

Not seeing a page?

The sidebar shows only the pages your role allows. If a page is missing, your role does not include access to it, or your property's plan does not include it. Ask your property administrator to adjust your role if you need it. See Users and Roles.

The main content area

Everything to the right of the sidebar is where you work: viewing reservations, posting a charge to a folio, updating a room status, or reading a report.

Search and notifications

  • Search, at the top of the sidebar, finds pages, guests, and reservations without hunting through the sidebar.
  • Notifications, the bell in the bar at the top of the window, lists alerts that need your attention. It shows a count when you have unread items.

The account menu

Your name and email sit at the bottom of the sidebar. Select them to open the account menu, which holds Settings (your profile, security, notifications, and properties) and Log out.

Switching properties

If your account has access to more than one property, select the property switcher at the top of the sidebar and choose another property from the list. Veridien opens that property's dashboard. Check the property name at the start of every shift so your actions land in the right place.

Common mistakes

  • Working in the wrong property. If you manage several properties, confirm the property name in the switcher before you start. Every action applies only to the active property.
  • Forgetting your password. Use Forgot password? on the sign-in screen to reset it.
  • Not logging out on shared computers. Front desks often share one computer. Always Log out at the end of your shift, or the next person's actions are recorded against your account in the Activity Log.
